With funding from FIMI, PIFEVA organizes capacity building workshop for indigenous women leaders and young potential indigenous girls leaders in Kamituga in Mwenga territory

Main objective

Contribute to amplifying the voice of Lega indigenous women and breaking the silence with a view to attracting attention, influencing the making and execution of decisions by the competent local authorities against the discrimination of indigenous women and the dispossession of their lands traditional practices for the benefit of mining activities in Mwenga territory in South Kivu in the east of DR Congo

Specific objectives

1) Strengthen the capacities of indigenous Lega women to claim their rights against discrimination and dispossession of their traditional lands for the benefit of mining activities in Mwenga territory;

2) Mobilize customary chiefs, political-administrative authorities as well as local communities for the promotion and protection of the rights of indigenous Lega women and against discrimination and dispossession of their traditional lands for the benefit of mining activities in Mwenga territory.
